Are you traveling to Scotland and wondering what the vintage shopping is like? I have great news for you … the second hand and consignment shopping scene in Edinburgh is excellent! Best of all, if you’re a tourist like me, most of the best Edinburgh vintage shops are located near each other close to the historic heart of this beautiful city!
Read on for the best of the best Edinburgh Vintage Shops!
Each Vintage Shop below will have its address on Google Maps hyperlinked! If you’re a lover of all things second-hand, make sure to check out our post on the Top 10 Edinburgh Bookshops next!! We include a lot of second hand and antiquarian bookshops on that list.
Vintage Clothes Shops Edinburgh
Godiva
This was one of my favorite vintage shops of the entire trip! In addition to vintage, they also have a front room full of reworked clothing that they deconstruct/construct in their own basement in addition to local designers!
Godiva is well worth your time, and located near so many other wonderful vintage, antique, and book stores.
TORN Vintage
Located just next to Godiva, this is another great option. What made TORN stand out is the outerwear selection!! Select from hundreds of leather coats, dusters, wool coats, and trench coats.
Particularly if you find yourself underdressed for the chilly Edinburgh weather, I could not recommend TORN enough. And the staff were so lovely!
Herman Brown
The clothing options here are mostly fun and funky vintage! You won’t find basics or sensible staples. But what makes Herman Brown special among the others, in my opinion, are the fun accessories! Hats, gloves, bags, jewelry, this place is a goldmine for really unique options.
Armstrong Vintage Edinburgh
Although there are many Armstrong locations, this particular vintage store at the base of the Royal Mile is enormous and SO MUCH FUN! You will not only find kilts, but also everything else you would need (vest, jackets, etc) to complete your Scottish attire. They also have coats, leather, denim, antique wedding dresses, Oktoberfest inspired outfits and lederhosen, jumpers, hats, shoes … literally everything you could want!
If you can only hit one vintage store while in Edinburgh, this one will definitely deliver the biggest bang for your buck – time and money wise.
Little Blue Door
Despite the little blue door’s name, you’ll notice it by its bright pink facade! This super fun vintage store is all about colors, prints & personality! This isn’t the place to come for new vintage basics or staples. But if you’re looking for something bright or embellished to make you stand out, this is that place!
Carnivalé
This is officially my favorite Edinburgh vintage clothing store of them all! The owner Rachel is extremely kind and helpful, the selection of dresses range from 1930’s to 1990’s, and the prices are fair! The store is cute and cozy, and the jewelry options are excellent too!
Tron Kirk Market
OK, this isn’t vintage … but if you love shopping for second hand, you might also love shopping from local artists and artisans. Tron Kirk is collected of market stalls in a gorgeous, former church. The stone walls and stained glass ceilings create an unforgettable backdrop to this marketplace.
There are limited clothing options at Tron Kirk, but this is a perfect place to come if you’re looking for jewelry, scarfs, or other accessories made locally.
Charity Clothing Stores Edinburgh
I didn’t go into any charity clothing stores during this particular trip, but I do want to note that there were many in the Stockbridge neighborhood! These stores looked excellent based on their widows and storefronts!
